Republican National Committee Chairwoman Ronna McDaniel says she believes the newly passed bill in Alabama that effectively bans abortion in the state goes too far

"Personally, I would have the exceptions," McDaniel told CNN's Alisyn Camerota on"New Day," referring to cases of rape and incest, which are not included in Alabama's bill."That's my personal belief." "Personally, I would have the exceptions" for rape and incest in the controversial Alabama abortion law, @GOPChairwoman Ronna McDaniel says.

"But we are a party that's a broad tent ... we are the party of life." https://t.co/z3oIa0iHM6 pic.twitter.com/BmuVHZEEoc — New Day May 17, 2019 Alabama's governor on Wednesday signed into law the nation's most restrictive anti-abortion bill that could punish doctors who perform abortions with life in prison. The law only allows exceptions"to avoid a serious health risk to the unborn child's mother," for ectopic pregnancy and if the"unborn child has a lethal anomaly." Democrats fell short in their attempt to re-introduce an amendment to exempt rape and incest victims.

In your discussion re: finding & how she is outpacing D’s why are people not asking / challenging GOPChairwoman about taking ( & keeping) $$ funds from Steve Wynn ? HR1

Ya think?

GOPChairwoman alisyn_camerota ProBIRTH, not pro-life. The party trying to kill ACA/Obamacare, that sanctions CHILDREN separated from parents at the border and caged, the party that reveres guns more than they fear SCHOOL shootings is NOT 'pro-LIFE'. Hypocrites.

Share this: According to the bible, a fetus is not a living person with a soul until after drawing its first breath. After God formed man in Genesis 2:7, He “breathed into his nostrils the breath of life and it was then that the man became a living being”.

Really?

The state of Alabama is forcing women to carry an unwanted child for up to 20 years. Therefore, the state should pay the women a living monthly support fee for each child until they reach the age of 18 and provide for free tuition for a 4 year degree for each child.

Alabama has all the religious state legislators who are men making decisions for on women's bodies that they know nothing about. So it is either they are voting on things they don't know or it is strictly a religious decision, which violates the constitution.

By design to ensure a lawsuit..

Abusive making raped women carry children they do not want. Most church es empty during the day.

Then she is PRO-CHOICE. These Republicans who are mewling 'oh, this goes too far' are LITERALLY articulating the pro-choice position that reasonable people have been articulating for decades. It's only when they see what an actual ban looks like that they suddenly panic.

indeed it does. What happened to HIPAA and personal privacy? People need to mind their own business.

Use birth control wouldn't need an abortion

there should be a bill that charges 99 years in prison if a politician pays for the abortion of his mistress

Wow she actually says something that makes sense

The problem with Alabama legislators are that they keep calling a zigote... HUMAN... Do they asked for CHICKENS when they want to purchase eggs?

Wow CNN, you really misrepresented that interview with Your headline!

Sure, all kinds of republicans can now come out and express their fake outrage and / or pretend they care about women's rights (after they got what they wanted). LOL

I can't help but laugh. Until it hits home, all is fkking good¡!!!! The hatred has been walking amongst you, and even sleeping in some of your beds, but all was good, until... This has been the WW, historically¡¡!! Guess what, the WM has planned for this too¡!!!!

Even the devil has a conscience.

She's right, the government has no business sticking their nose into private citizens lives! Why not crack down on face tattoos too and tanning beds while they're at it! Too much control is not a good thing, castrate the men who impregnate these women!😡

Let's just be honest GOPChairwoman. You just twisted, turned and spewed talking points through the entire interview but alisyncamerota tried. You can tell when the interviewer just gets fed up trying to get an answer. Simple, end with a 'thank you.'

Then she’s not pro-life.

This is it? Complicit support of the criminal in the WH doesn’t get a response from these cowards?

Rape of any kind is a horrid thing & in those instances a woman should have the right to choose. The rest of the time: Everything could be avoided if a woman simply left her legs closed or tell the guy 'If you drop a load in me you are going to lose those 6.5 inches'

Agree

in 2016, we the american ppl have spoken. ppl of alabama have spoken. now its up for our courts to decide. we need more sc justices, who will protect the unborn n our individual religious freedoms n liberties. 4 more yrs trump; 8 yrs pence/repubs.

She personally believes: not speaking for the party.

Oooh, afraid of losing the women’s vote

Ya think?

What else ?

Ya think!

Republicans starting to panic because they know THIS is an issue that will get women out to vote in record numbers. Oh, hell yes!

It was designed to go too far. Stop being shocked.

You think? 👎

So the GOP is right! Abortion in the first term 20 weeks should be ok thereafter it should be a crime!

Wow!

The fact she's a Republican doesn't equate to her views being our views..

l'aborto dobbiamo ricordare sempre che non è un diritto ma l' opportunità di donna di scegliere nel pieno della sua libertà

جميل كلامك ياصديقي وصحيح شكرا لك

Well she should think through her 'personal belief'.If you're pro-life because you believe that abortion ends the life of an innocent child, then why would it be ok to end of the life of that child just because it was a product of rape or incest? What fault does that child have?

When asked for comment All of the aborted FEMALE babies could not be reached...

Are we supposed to think she's a 'reasonable' Republican now? Not interested. This type of 'moderate' is still an enemy of women and civil rights.

Yet she’ll do nothing about. Thoughts and prayers I guess...

Didn't Alabama try to elect a sexual predator Roy Moore recently?

Don't women in the GOP realize the party does everything to keep women down? And, yet they still will die for this party! Baffling

CNN still sucking. ☹️

Liar

Not far enough

My story!

Who cares what she says. I don't.

I hope every doctor leaves that state. And all the young people too.

RINO

Pretty bad when even conservatives are saying things went too far.

I don’t believe her.
