During a television interview, Ronna McDaniel said she would like to see exceptions made in some cases.

By John Wagner John Wagner National reporter leading The Post's breaking political news team Email Bio Follow May 17 at 9:05 AM Republican National Committee Chairwoman Ronna McDaniel said Friday that she personally opposes provisions in the new Alabama law that outlaws virtually all abortions, even in cases of rape and incest, but defended the range of views on abortion within her party.

In addition to not including exceptions for rape or incest, the Alabama law also allows a penalty of up to 99 years in prison for doctors who perform abortions. The national GOP platform plank on abortion contains no exceptions for rape, incest and the life of the mother. “I believe in exceptions for rape, incest and life of the mother, and that’s what I’ve voted on,” McCarthy said at a weekly news conference.

Personally, but not publically. This has been the R mantra - they disagree with Trump privately but won't speak out UNTIL he is in deep do-do. Then they will do-do all over us with exactly what Ms. Romney-McDaniel is do-doing today.

What about the innocent soul that has a potential to live eternally on the New Earth.

Well, glad we got that cleared up.., 🙄

Imagine. The world is not black and white and people opinions do not have to fall in to one or the other box.

Oh, so now she's going to claim to be one of the good ones?

not care about she feel. care what party that's cruel, cold, vindictive, uncaring, anti-female, sick, poor & minority doing 2 state. not fund public schools like community schools, unqualified 2b leaders making sure all children have hot lunches, ect..but not opposed 2 abortion

Yeah she is worried about their mega donors not being able to get their mistresses abortions.

So she's not totally feckless

But she will support it because this is what all Trump whores do

The vast majority of Americans are opposed to the new Alabama law.

When the Stockholm syndrome wears off and you realize you’re viewed as nothing but an incubator

dakumaku They don’t go far enough?

Oh Lord her of the speak out of both sides of her mouth person.

It is still america. She has every rite to voice her opinion.

Unless her statement contained some version of “I am leaving the Republican Party,” I don’t care what nonsense she’s trying to con people with.

She's just playing the 'good cop' to the many bad cops in her party. There's no substance here because she won't do anything about it. Switch parties and then she will be believed.

She doesn’t live in Alabama The people in Alabama voted for their representatives and it seems this is what Alabama wants So leave it alone

Whatever Roman Romney, such a SAD leader of repub party

She secretly likes women

So what’s your point ?

It will fail in court anyway.

I am personally opposed to her!

'Republican National Committee chairwoman says she is personally opposed to scrubbing the Romney last name to serve as the GOP chairman. But you know . . . .'

Personally opposed? Why? Because it is the most despicable thing that has happened in statehouses in twenty years? That is your flock! You are letting the wolves feast on he remains of what is left of your once respected party.

So Chubbo realizes this bill is a disaster for Republicans?

Sure. But she supports court-packing to make sure Roe v Wade is overturned anyway.

Maybe she oughta look into her party's platform?

But she continues to represent & support the ANTI CHOICE PARTY! Again, a white woman voting against her own interests, at the detriment of American women. Smh....

Doesn’t look like an issue she’s likely to face.

Yeh cuz she’s probably had a few

Why are liberals surprised? Dems follow the company line no matter what, GOP'ers do not! It's a strength and weakness for both parties! Both suffer at the polls from it as well. Trump has pulled the right back to the center while the left is going extremely to the left!

The GOP is gping to reap what they've have sown.

Hopefully their massive overstep dooms this extremist breakout.

Now they are scared .. women in this country might wake up, and turn out in droves..I do hope so!! How is it that these Republican voices can speak one way,one day, and turn around the next day. I remember when this was called flip flopping. Repeat.. flip flopping!

Let's face it, Dems let the leftist push abortion too far, now the pendulum is swinging back! Celebrating late term abortion (NY & VA) was the straw that broke the camels back! Now it's headed to court just in time for the 2020 race! Media & both parties ❤️️ this = $$$

No, dear, these are your people. They ARE your party. They are American Taliban. And they are your base, GOPChairwoman Romney. Own it.

There are Republicans that are for choices. Just as there are democrats that want it banned. There are two groups period. Pro life and pro choice. Choice doesn't mean you celebrate abortions. That is just ignorant talk

INTERPRETATION: “Were (Republicans) going to lose the White House and GOP controlled Senate in a landslide when American women swamp the ballot box in favor of our opponent.” truth

but she continues to lie about laws in other states.

Excellent! She grasps the concept of personal choice and public policy. Well, we have that now with our settled law. Against abortion- don't have one. It's pretty simple. You want the government telling you that you CAN'T have a baby?

Just wait...

But is she opposed to the Mitch McConnell court packing strategy?

'She would like to see exceptions made in some cases'. How enlightened!

Oh Please, Washington Post.

But she is personally okay with forcing this policy on all other women. She's rich; it would never impact her directly.

Why is she a republican?

Because it’s insane.

If only there were some kind of solution to this difficult topic where one person's personal views aren't imposed on another.

Thank God a Republican woman with some sense.

But she's a republican and she'll do what she's told and follow these laws and simply offer a few words. She'll never actually stand up.

So, she did help everyone of law makers and supports them

Maybe, but she’s willing to go along with whatever helps it.

so what? she lies down with the GOP dogs. she deserves the fleas.

Doesn't matter, the people of Alabama voted for this, Crazy ass rednecks

That is until she finds herself pregnant at an inconvenient time or with a child with severe physical and mental limitations.

So how is the RNC going to back pedal on this one? This is a galvanizing issue for many voters.

F OFF Ms Romney

Obviously she hasn’t read the whole abortion bill! Or she’s for careless sex and oops I’m pregnant so let’s go murder the baby.... 🤷🏼‍♀️

GOPChairwoman has a heart?
