Republican National Committee Chairwoman Ronna McDaniel said she personally opposes Alabama’s new abortion law

the nation’s most restrictive abortion measure, which passed easily through the state’s GOP-dominated Legislature. The bill’s passage sets up a court fight Republicans hope will end with the Supreme Court overturningposter="http://v.politico.com/images/1155968404/201905/3404/1155968404_6037318023001_6037333630001-vs.jpg?pubId=1155968404"just didn't go far enough in saying, 'Where did the states get the right to determine governance on this issue?'” McDaniel said.

McDaniel’s reservations about the details of the law echoed comments from House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy, who on Thursday“I defend my pro-life position for my whole political career,” he told reporters during a news conference. “But in my whole political career, I also believed in rape, incest or life of the mother. There was exceptions.”

The Alabama measure makes an exception if a pregnancy poses a health risk to a mother. Under the law, doctors could face up to 99 years in prison for performing an abortion. A number of other anti-abortion bills passed in red states have spurred concerns from abortion-rights advocates who worry that with the Supreme Court’s current makeup, justices may topple Roe.

Neither McDaniel nor McCarthy indicated whether they want to see the Supreme Court strike down the Alabama law.

No one really gives a sh what GOPChairwoman 'personally opposes'. The GOPWarOnWomen will never be forgotten. VoteBlue2020!

Who cares what rona ROMNEY mcdaniel has to say

Do not believe anything the Republicans of Gilead say about their war to criminalize being female, a POC, poor. GOP religious extremists will criminalize miscarriages by women who run, ride bikes, fall, fail to take vitamins, have a drink. BoycottAlabama

I call bs

No litmus test? Lol

Oh. So, RonnaMcDaniel believes in a woman's right to choose to have an abortion. I didn't know that the RNC Chair is ProChoice

Speak up now or shut up forever💩👺👹🤡

It's officially the dark ages. Stakes for burning witches available at your nearest Walmart.

“But we are a party that is a broad tent.” That’s a good one. CorruptGOP GOPLies

This woman is disgusting

Well what are you going to do about it?

Noted .....

Uh, huh.

Thanks ... for nothing.

and we care, why?

Why is this woman a Republican? Does she have low self-esteem issues?

Empathy, compassion&mercy should guide us. Abortion doesn't belong in our criminal justice system, punishment is not the solution. I am moved by the faith of the Alabama legislature, I have also heard the testimony of a young woman whose father was a rapist, she's glad to be here

They call her the RNC Chair because it looks like somebody accidentally sat on her face.

She also said Republicans are the 'party of life' which is unbelievable considering all the things they'd like to take away from kids & families. They are the party of STATUS QUO & the rich. They have a war on women.

She shouldn’t get a selective bye on this issue. She and her cohorts loosed the extreme right giving them just enough legitimacy.

Well yea, going to be hard to keep shady men in high-level RNC positions on staff if that law starts becoming more commonplace across the US, right GOPChairwoman?

Not news stop trying to divide.

Brunette Meghan McCain wants you to know her opinion.

EVERYONE HAS THEIR OWN OPINION THIS IS WHAT IS GREAT ABOUT OUR COUNTRY DEMOCRACY WORKS

Polling numbers must be pretty bad, then.

Meaning the fuck what?!

lmao.... but will do nothing... cowards.

MAKE ALL THESE HALFWIT POLITICIANS TAKE A STAND ON ABORTION AND LEGISLATE IT. POLITICIANS WILL NOT LEGISLATE THIS. THEY ARE FAR TOO COWARDLY. THEY REFUSE TO GO ON RECORD AS TO EXACTLY HOW LONG A MOTHER HAS TO KILL THEIR KID.

But she will support it because it’s “the party line.” This whole thing is sick! Welcome to the era where women are chattel once again. Just sickening!

F YOUR FEELINGS! TRUMP2020 RALLY TEE! MAGA TRUMP TrumpRally

RNC Committee Chair Ronna McDaniel must have put the Romney back in her name for this one!

Too bad. Her thoughts don't matter!!!!!

Did I read that correctly? Which part of it? This is a very broad statement. They're just trying to set the argument as 'crazy abortion ban' vs. 'normal abortion ban.' Don't fall for this.

'It doesn't save life': Tomi Lahren says Alabama's abortion law forces women into 'dangerous methods'Lahren shocked some of her conservative fans when she publicly announced she was pro-choice on 'The View' two years ago. Finish it.... to far “and will be struck down by SCOTUS”. If they thought it would pass as is, they would be thrilled. I mean, who wants to do Handmaiden Light? They can speak out against this particular law but they are all universally United in overturning Roe versus Wade so stop acting as if these men are somehow turning against their own party. They are not. the left running out of denunciatory labels for those off their side, those they don't like & do things differently. Harnessing freedom of expression has its prejudice. Colorful words for allies, denunciatory labels for those they hate. Irrationally absurd
