A Sydney man has been sentenced to time served on offences including attempting to smuggle drugs into the Cape Breton Correctional Centre.
Officials retrieved two packages – one containing 54 grams and a second containing 28 grams of hashish.A plea date has been set for an Eskasoni woman facing a host of offences. She also faces new charges of assault with a weapon, two counts of breaching court orders and two counts of mischief. The offences are alleged to have occurred shortly after Poulette was released on conditions.
Brandon Mitchell Maxwell, 30, is charged with five counts of breaching court orders, and single counts of robbery, assault, possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose , unlawful entry and uttering a threat. But despite three Supreme Court jury trial dates set, the hearings did not proceed as health measures implemented across the province to deal with the COVID-19 pandemic resulted in each trial date being re-scheduled.
