Boris Johnson has declared he will launch a fresh bid to hold a general election on 12 December to 'get Brexit done'.

Boris Johnson has declared he will launch a fresh bid to hold a general election on December 12 to "get Brexit done". The British prime minister is due to lay down his plan in the House of Commons on Monday but he will need two-thirds of MPs to support it.

Speaking after a meeting of senior cabinet ministers on Thursday, Mr Johnson vowed to act on MPs' concerns he gave them too little time to scrutinise the EU Withdrawal Bill, which writes into UK law the deal he secured with Brussels. "We are going to give them all the time they want, between now and the dissolution of parliament to do scrutiny," he said. Image: AP

I wish they would just get on with it either way.

What a f..king mess that country has become.

Brexit

Brexit's great irony is that it is a political union (the UK) protesting against another political union (the EU) on the grounds that such unions rob its constituent members of sovereignty.

jim_slip Why? Just don’t ask for an extension. Then we leave, job done.

This is just for our good friends in Australia 😂😂
