Bernie Sanders unveils plan to pile $50 billion in new tax money from legal marijuana into business grants

Bernie Sanders releases a plan to legalize marijuana nationwide, expunge certain marijuana convictions and invest in grants to boost communities disproportionately affected by current drug laws.

Sanders also says he wants to take steps to ensure the legal marijuana industry does not come to resemble Big Tobacco, and his plan would bar tobacco companies from getting into the weed business.Preston Ehrler | SOPA Images | LightRocket | Getty Images The senator says he will take executive action directing the Justice Department to declassify marijuana as a controlled substance in his first 100 days in office, then work to pass a bill making legalization permanent.

Mice nuts on $22trn, rising rapidly, government debt.

Since Bernie doesn't know what tax rate he will charge, or what sales volume would be... an estimate of $50 Bil in tax revenue seems totally believable.

The problem is once marijuana is legalized people still buy it from their dealers tax free.

Man... if we smoke like, to raise $50B of tax every year, I think, like, nobody works anymore.

TLRY good entry

If people smoke that much pot, who’s going to be sober enough to start a business?

You’re going to lose, realDonaldTrump

Let’s do it Bernie.
