First lady Jill Biden is back in court Monday for Hunter Biden’s criminal trial, her fifth day in attendance — out of six days the trial has been in session in Wilmington, Del. — amid two transatlantic round-trip flights since proceedings began. President Biden is in Delaware on Monday, as he was a week ago for the opening day of his son’s criminal trial, but he is not in court, where his presence would require considerable security arrangements.
Last week, Jill Biden attended her son’s trial on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday, then flew to France for the 80th anniversary of the D-Day anniversary Thursday. On Friday, the first lady was back in court in Delaware. Then it was back to France over the weekend for a state dinner with French President Emmanuel Macron on Saturday. On Sunday, after a visit to an American cemetery in France, the president and first lady both returned to Delaware.
