The Mueller report into suspected collusion between Donald Trump and Russia has found there is no evidence that the president committed a crime. However, the report also does not exonerate the president of obstruction of justice.
A letter summarising its finding, sent by the US Attorney General William Barr to members of Congress, said there was not enough evidence to prove charges on those grounds. Despite this, Mr Trump welcomed what he described as 'complete and total exoneration', adding to journalists that the inquiry was the result of 'an illegal take-down that failed', and saying it was 'a shame the country had to go through this'.
