Casey Goodson Jr, 23, was shot and killed by a deputy permanently assigned to the U.S. Marshal’s fugitive task force Dec. 4, 2020. Court records showed several subpoenas were issued on Thursday at the request of both the prosecution and the defense for depositions on Monday.
Christopher Corne, an employee at Franklin Heating and Cooling in Groveport, was subpoenaed for a deposition, GPS records and employment file. The company came up during witness testimony on Tuesday when a woman who had lived in the neighborhood said a Franklin Heating and Cooling van was sitting outside her home before the shooting.
A source close to Corne wanted to remain anonymous, but told WYSX in a phone conversation that Corne was across the street working on someone's HVAC when the shooting happened. He saw everything and told me," the source said. "He said ' promise you, Casey did nothing wrong. All he was doing was jamming to music. When he was waving his hands, he was just singing and dancing. He had ear buds in his ears.'”The owner at Franklin Heating and Cooling said Corne was out on a jobsite when WSYX visited the business.
