Meade is accused of shooting and killing Casey Goodson Jr. in 2020. At issue isn't whether he shot him, but The defense claims that Meade was working with a U.S. Marshal’s task force when he saw Goodson driving in a car waving a gun. Meade then followed Goodson to his home and ordered him to put his gun down, but that Goodson did not comply, according to his defense.taken from a Minerva Park police officer in the moments following the shooting. That video played in court Monday showed Meade on the porch of the Goodson home telling other officers he saw Goodson with a gun. Meade said he shot Goodson, claiming Goodson pointed his gun at him after Meade twice ordered him to drop the weapon. Family members said Goodson was not holding a gun, that he was holding a sandwich and his keys at the time. They also said Goodson had been wearing ear buds at the time and couldn't hear Meade.The state has called about a dozen witnesses to the stand so far in the first three days of testimony.
