SYDNEY, N.S. — A New Waterford woman is now banned from possessing firearms for 10 years as part of a sentence on theft and weapon offences.

McInnis is now scheduled to stand trial in provincial court on two counts of theft and single count of assault causing bodily harm. The trial is set for Feb. 1.A provincial court trial date has been assigned to a Sydney man facing assault and threat offences. Nicholas John MacFarlane, 27, is charged with possession for the purpose of trafficking and possession of money knowing it was obtained by crime.A preliminary hearing on the charges is scheduled for Jan. 24.A Glace Bay woman has a provincial court trial scheduled on charges relating to counterfeit money.

The Crown is also expected to decide at that time whether 10 counts of uttering counterfeit money will proceed.Charges replaced by peace bond
