A West Australian man accused of travelling to Canberra to "flog" Treasurer Josh Frydenberg is behind bars after he was refused bail in the ACT Magistrates Court today.Mr Mellowship says he should be allowed out of jail as he did not follow through with the threatsThe court heard Ian Stewart Mellowship had gone to the Treasury building as well as Parliament House, telling security staff about his plan.
But Prosecutor Cecilia Pascoe told the court there were serious concerns about Mr Mellowship, after a psychological assessment. "He said he won't be leaving Canberra until the job is done, the job being to assault the Treasurer," Ms Pascoe said."The words I [said], but there's no action," he told the court.
The court heard Mr Mellowship went to Parliament House as well as the Treasury building, telling security staff about his plan.
