Witnesses tell the Supreme Court in Townsville they encountered a naked man who 'looked to be' holding a knife the night before Elizabeth Kippin's body was found.

Witnesses at a murder trial being heard by the Supreme Court in Townsville say they encountered a naked man running through the streets saying he was going on a "killing spree" on the night before an elderly woman's body was found in her home.Anthony James O'Keefe has pleaded not guilty to several charges including murder, attempted murder and wilful damage

Anthony James O'Keefe, 37, is accused of killing Elizabeth Kippin, 81, in her Wulguru home and attempting to kill two others in July 2016. Resident Darryn Haines told the court that on the night of July 26 he found a naked man huddled on his patio.In a triple zero call played to the jury, Mr Haines could be heard telling the operator: "He's stark naked and saying he's going to kill people."

He said the man told him he was going on a "killing spree" before he lunged at Mr Cox and struck him in the face.
