The jurors told the judge that a settlement between the city and George Floyd’s family signaled the city believed Chauvin did something wrong, making it hard to be impartial.MINNEAPOLIS -- A judge said Friday he won’t delay or move the trial of a former Minneapolis police officer charged in George Floyd’s death over concerns that a $27 million settlement for Floyd’s family could taint the jury pool, but he’ll allow limited evidence from a 2019 arrest.
But Cahill, who called the timing “unfortunate,” said he believed a delay would do nothing to stem the problem of pretrial publicity, and that there’s no place in Minnesota untouched by that publicity. But Cahill said he doesn’t plan to allow the testimony of a forensic psychiatrist for the prosecution. Floyd said he had claustrophobia and resisted getting into the squad car before the fatal encounter last year, and the state wanted Dr. Sarah Vinson to testify that his actions were consistent with a normal person experiencing severe stress, as opposed to faking or resisting arrest.
The full report said he died of “cardiopulmonary arrest, complicating law enforcement subdual, restraint, and neck compression.” A summary report listed fentanyl intoxication and recent methamphetamine use under “other significant conditions” but not under “cause of death.”
Why does this case of wrongful death or murder however he is charged take so much longer than the act that caused it. Why would anyone defend someone who caused such a death?
so the Judge stated because the state did what they did with showing the settlement they agreed to that no matter where in the state this will be moved to there will jot be able to be a non biased trial as to why he will not move it but he set it up for the appeal

judge already knows what the outcome will be of this trial. so he intends for the case to be overturned by the next higher court upon appeal, because it wasnt moved to another jurisdiction.

Not sure how much more evidence you need for this trial - I'm thinking the 8 minute and 46 seconds of the murder videos are enough!!!! I'm not sure the low blood sugar will be a good defense!!!
