A new anti-corruption watchdog has been selected for South Australia at a time when the ICAC is carrying out multiple high-profile investigations into the state's institutions of power.

Former Supreme Court justice Ann Vanstone has been selected as South Australia's new Independent Commissioner Against Corruption, replacing inaugural commissioner Bruce Lander next month.

"Ms Vanstone has an extensive understanding of the public service, and a strong, analytical mind as acknowledged by her appointment as Queen's Counsel. Ms Vanstone was selected and approved by the Marshall cabinet before her appointment was signed-off by the Statutory Officers Committee this morning."I think that was an extremely good appointment, well received unanimously," he said."Starting off is not going to be easy, but I think she's well and truly qualified and capable of doing a magnificent job," Mr Darley said.

Black Lives Matter protest blocked by Supreme CourtNew South Wales Police have won a Supreme Court bid to block a Black Lives Matter protest going ahead in Sydney this week. 9News Excellent news. I totally support what the BLM protesters stand for but protesting in the middle of a pandemic, especially when NSW is on a wave 2 knife edge, is just plain wrong. Let's see if this somehow gets overturned at the last minute.... So if any of them march then they are breaking the law and arrested and fined 👍 BlackLivesMattters
