President Trump has vetoed legislation that attempted to overturn his use of emergency powers to divert military base funding to pay for his long-promised border fence.

President Trump has vetoed legislation that attempted to overturn his use of emergency powers to divert military base construction funding to pay for his long-promised border fence.

Trump killed a similar measure in March. He said in his veto message Tuesday that the situation on the nation’s southern border with Mexico remains a national emergency and “our Armed Forces are still needed to help confront it.” Congress is unlikely to have the votes to override the veto. In all, 127 military construction projects totaling $3.6 billion will lose funding.

Democrats contended that Trump trampled Congress’ power of the purse and chose the wall over the needs of the military.Trump says the legislation would have impaired the government’s capacity to curb human trafficking and smuggling.

Someone tell this idiot he can't veto the courts. They already ruled it was illegal.

The Court has already called it illegal!

Article 4 section 4 of the constitution requires that the states be protected from invasion

Raymond_LLM The fact that there was such a vote that Congress deemed necessary seems to be an admission that Drumpf could legally divert funds, right?

We all knew that was going to happen, now let's see what actions do the Congress takes. We hope it wasn't another show of Congress.

Don't worry. We got scapegoats and fall guys all over the place.

Veto? How can you veto something that says you broke the law? I object on the grounds I'm guilty? I have absolute impunity? The buses are lined up? Wha?

Somehow I don't think government is supposed to work this way. If congress tells a corrupt president he can't do something, he should not have the power to say, 'Nah, nah, na, boo boo' and do it anyway. The founding fathers didn't want this. ImpeachTrumpNow

Wait.. A judge said this was illegal didn’t they?

and what about the court saying it was illegal?
