SNP MP Joanna Cherry took a scathing wipe at the Queen as she cheered on the Supreme Court ruling finding the decision to shut down Parliament 'illegal.'

The Scottish MP welcomed the decision of the Supreme Court ruling the British Government had acted illegally. Ms Cherry insisted the decision showed the Queen"is not above the law". Speaking outside the Supreme Court in Central London on Tuesday, the SNP MP said:"This is a huge victory for the rule of law and for democracy and it’s very much in keeping with the Scottish Constitutional tradition that neither the Governments, nor indeed the monarch, are above the law.
