The family was due to learn on Friday whether they would be deported to Sri Lanka. Priya and her husband arrived separately to Australia by boat several years ago, reportedly fleeing persecution in Sri Lanka.
However when Priya's temporary visa expired in 2018, the family was taken from its home in Biloela and held in a Melbourne detention centre before being transferred to Christmas Island last Saturday. They were granted an injunction after lawyers argued the couple's youngest daughter had never been assessed for a protection visa.
Why do these illegal immigrants think they have the right to take money away from homeless sick and elderly people in Australia! Why are we paying their court costs? 7 times they have been to court! How arrogant are these people!
So what’s next step? If you wanna kick them out, just do it.
They have got to go. Has the judge gone soft in the head or is he one if the same kind?
Not quite - they are in detention on Christmas Island
