Employer accused of slapping maid multiple times, hitting her with cup and ladle

Tan Bee Kim, 53, is accused of also using a cup, a handphone and a ladle to hit Zeny Aquino Landingin.Zeny took the witness stand on Monday at the start of the trial to describe the incidents of alleged abuse, which occured as early as 2012 and ended in September 2017.

In court on Monday, the maid was also referred by the prosecution to a note she had earlier written, detailing some of the allegations. And on Christmas day that year, Tan allegedly scolded Zeny for buying the wrong flavour of ice cream and knocked her head 13 times, making her feel giddy. Tan purportedly also knocked on the maid’s chest six times, and slapped her face.

On one occasion, Tan allegedly hit Zeny’s head using a ladle, and on another occasion, the employer purportedly hit the maid’s head twice with a cup.
