Thousands of angry and frustrated Rohingya refugees mark the second anniversary of their exodus from Myanmar into Bangladesh by demanding their citizenship and other rights.

FILE - In this file photo dated Thursday, Nov. 15, 2018, Rohingya refugees shout slogans during a protest against the repatriation process at Unchiprang refugee camp near Cox's Bazar, in Bangladesh. Sexual violence carried out by Myanmar's security forces against the country's Muslim Rohingya minority was so widespread and severe that it demonstrates intent to commit genocide as well as warrants prosecution for war crimes and crimes against humanity, according to a U.N.

Myanmar had scheduled Aug. 22 for the beginning of the process but it failed for a second time after the first attempt last November. “Oh Allah, how much blood we have to give to have peace in our life? We have been shedding our blood for decades and now we are here. Please help us, we want to go back,” said the imam.

A U.N.-established investigation last year recommended the prosecution of Myanmar’s top military commanders on charges of genocide, war crimes and crimes against humanity for the crackdown on the Rohingya. Myanmar dismissed the allegations. The commission recommended that the government end enforced segregation of Rakhine Buddhists and Rohinya Muslims, ensure full humanitarian access, tackle Rohingya statelessness and “revisit” the 1982 Citizenship Law and punish perpetrators of abuses.

Two years later, U.S. says Rohingya persecutors being held accountableBut the Trump administration’s claims of progress in Myanmar are unlikely to appease the human rights community, which has pushed the U.S. to label the situation a 'genocide.' Until Trump gets his payoff Obama did NOTHING to stop it. Why is it that 'Human Rights' are only Given to Minorities? Are they majority of PEOPLE not Human? Or do they JUST not HAVE rights? It seems we are applying the same logic to Citizens? NON-Citizens NOW have MORE rights Than Citizens and are ENTITLED to MORE Free STUFF.
