The husband of Australian aid worker Jennifer Downes, who was found dead in Fiji last month, has faced court charged with her murder.
According to local media, Mr John was released from hospital on Thursday, and charged with Ms Downes' murder on the weekend. Ms Downes, who was known professionally as Jenna Lusaka, had worked as a logistics officer for the WFP in the Pacific since 2017 after beginning her career in the Democratic Republic of Congo.
"The Australian government has zero-tolerance for violence against women and their children, both at home and abroad," Ms Payne said.
