A police official and at least three of his men were tagged on Tuesday in the killing of a lawyer in Rodriguez, Rizal two months ago.

Brig. Gen. Edward Carranza, director of the CALABARZON regional police, said the policemen involved appeared to have also had a hand in the summary execution of a police errand boy, who was earlier tagged in the ambush of lawyer Edilberto Golla Jr.

It all started with the assassination of Golla near his residence in Eastwood Greenview Subdivision on May 17 when gunmen shot him repeatedly. What was suspicious about the death of Esteban, according to Carraza, was that the former was presented as a suspect by the local police in the killing of Golla before he ended up dead.

The presentation of Esteban as the suspect in the killing of Golla, according to Carranza, was an attempt to mislead the investigation.
