Man, 18, to appear in court in Waterford charged in connection with fatal stabbing of fisherman Jack Power

An 18-year-old man is due to appear before a special sitting of Waterford District Court at 9pm this evening charged in relation to a fatal stabbing.The injured Mr Power was discovered at the scene and treated for an apparent stab wound.

He was taken by ambulance to University Hospital Waterford where he was pronounced dead a short time later.He was later released without charge. Mr Power’s father Richard was fishing in his trawler off the coast of Wales when his son died.
