Conservatives know they can’t win a popular vote.

This and Citizens United essentially amount to Republicans being able to rig our political system.

Who didn't see this coming! Elections matter. Letting Comey, Putin & some heinous agents in NY & AR field offices manipulate voters led to this sort of outcome. Conservative SC Justices know that the future for their party is dim--changing demographics--they need gerrymandering.

Seriously right-wing lawmakers now have the conservative SCOTUS’s blessing to cheat so hard that they can retain control of state legislatures even when they’re rejected at the polls by a substantial majority of voters

they will start drawing maps with lines around single houses based on Facebook data. This is not good for anybody

That’s conservatism in a nutshell for you. Conservative justices finding an excuse to give conservative lawmakers a green light to quite literally do away with free and fair elections for legislative bodies under their control.

What is the basis for the decision?

'critics of partisan gerrymandering' - i.e. fans of democracy, i.e. putative Americans.

so much for democracy, eh?

So we won’t have fair elections, 5 republicans decided this

California switched to a committee to set up the districts... and nothing changed. This whole Gerrymandering thing is people who cant face the fact that their ideology just isn't that popular among their neighbors.

Supreme Court rules on conservative effort to weaken federal agenciesThank goodness. Conservatives are trying to make government -- OUR SELF GOVERNANCE -- obsolete. Glad to see the Court put a stop to this particular tactic. Peepster3 They are actually giving them the continuation of the administrative state as their enemy, as opposed to making Congress & the courts be the bad guy to conservatives. Don't buy the hype. Congress should be making regs, not the agencies.
