Left-wing unions are threatening to withdraw millions of dollars in financial support for the ALP in the wake of calls for CFMMEU secretary John Setka to resign.

The Victorian ETU secretary said the union state council would meet next month to consider cutting donations to the party.

Labor leader Anthony Albanese declared his move to have Mr Setka expelled from the party was based on 'his long history of bringing the Labor Party into disrepute'. Left-wing leaders in Victoria are supporting the union boss, saying he deserves a fair trial. Image: News Corp Australia

Bradthinks71 Good. Take money out of politics. Take lobbyists out of politics. For all parties.

Time waster

What did he do actually that Labor wants to get rid of him, not the institution.. cfmmeu should stop give financial n bouncers for any political party, get rid of them altogether n allocated money specifically to be spent for campaigns from tax payers, NO MORE DONATIONS

Labor has to stand on its own feet, the country doesn't want Unions involved with any form of running this Country. The unions are deaf, the majority Do Not Want Thugs in our lives.

And don’t forget the thousands of volunteers who take to the streets in support of the AustralianLabor, looks like we might have to put up our own independent candidate against both AustralianLabor and the filthy LiberalAus

Good

Will that mean fewer mediscare ads next time around?

Remember The Royal Commission into Unions found, corruption thuggery blackmail bribes death threats & blackballing The CFMEU that Bob Hawke said he would have thrown out of the Labor Party if he was the Labor leader. BUT NO Labor kept on taking dentitions from this Union?
