The company said it would 'rethink our entire investment in Georgia' should the new restrictions take effect in 2020 as scheduled

ATLANTA—Netflix Inc., which shoots major series in Georgia including “Stranger Things” and “Ozark,” said it would work to oppose a new state law restricting abortions but would continue to film in the state for now. Should the law take effect in 2020 as scheduled, “we’d rethink our entire investment in Georgia,” Ted Sarandos, the company’s chief content officer, said in a statement.

Netflix is the first studio with current productions in Georgia to take a public position on the new law.

If you disagree with this decision, you must disagree with the long sustained US policy of economic sanctions vs states/countries that don’t share the traditional “american values of democracy”.

I’ve never invested in abortion; I invest my money in a company. Horny isn’t money. But, money is honey. My investment isn’t in abortion. Do I really care?

Move on

I imagine that would cause some people to rethink putting $ into the pocket of Netflix. Georgia laws intended to protect the unborn are frankly none of their business. What is with this outrage at limiting the ability of ppl to kill infants at will? No moral compass?

I would like to buy Netflix for what they're worth then sale Netflix for what Netflix think they're worth . I could bank a windfall . The Netflix content is more misses than hits . I do not care if they will screw themselves soon by just taking a political position . Go for it

Netflix baby killers

The only way to influence policy...MONEY!!!

There are some companies with morals who would be glad to buy ur facilities and take your place.

Don’t GAF Ozark season 2 was so bad couldn’t finish it...

Georgia should move on...Corporations are not Congress, they're not courts, the people do not elect them.

I get it, Netflix and Georgia each truly believe they are doing the right thing. In this progressive society where if you don’t agree, you’re wrong, we cannot begin to let corporations deprive citizens of jobs and change laws that have nothing to do with them

Translation: We care about women’s rights, we just care about tax breaks more

Corporate blackmail. Awesome. Good thing no one in Georgia pays for Netflix... [sarcasm]

SO MANY MORALLY CORRUPT....

We object! But, you know, our bottom line.

All about the $.

Abortion rights advocates say nationwide rallies were only the beginning as they target state laws“Lawmakers need to listen to all of those grass-roots activists out in the streets yesterday, because they will most certainly be voting come November,” said Toni Van Pelt, president of the National Organization for Women. Too bad the loons on the left started talking whack about late term abortions...now all these conservative states are shutting you down. When it's said and done there will be about 5 states who will do the deed. Should have left well enough alone. Great...a broad depiction of those too lazy to fill one of those vacant 7 million jobs. Kamala Harris wants some states to get preclearance before passing abortion lawsHarris wants Congress to pass legislation requiring some states to seek DOJ preclearance before instituting new laws impacting abortion rights. Don’t count your chickens sista ! Not nearly good enough. The Fourteenth Amendment guarantees everyone equal protection and due process. ANY abortion restriction violates both due process and equal protection. The Fourteenth Amendment gives Congress the power to protect Fourteenth Amendment rights. 1/ Does she know anything about state's rights?
