BREAKING: Appeal Court President, Justice Bulkachuwa, withdraws from presidential election tribunal

Appeal court president, Zainab Bulkachuwa heading the inaugural session of the presidential tribunal on WednesdayThe President of the Court of Appeal, Zainab Bulkachuwa, has recused herself from presiding or being a member of the presidential election petition tribunal.

Her decision follows a petition by the Peoples Democratic Party and its candidate, Atiku Abubakar. Both parties are challenging the victory of President Muhammadu Buhari in the February presidential election. Mrs Bulkachuwa’s husband is a senator-elect of the governing All Progressives Congress, a ground upon which Mr Abubakar and the PDP asked her to recuse herself.

The judge announced her decision to recuse herself on Wednesday despite the panel ruling against the PDP.

Sad.

Good riddance to bad rubbish.

I Know it will come to this. Yes, After realizing that his son campaign for you during elections & standing for you

u guys should make me understand . Was Justice Bulkachu standing for atiku or bubu. B4 I will know how to express my anger.

I expected the honourable judge to have done that earlier than now for the fact that her husband is a senator elected on the platform of opposition party, to say the fact APC itself wouldn't have been comfortable assuming that they are in the same situation

Shame on those urging her on. UselessPeople

KakaakiSocial JusticeBulkachuwa she has done the right thing, though she waited for too long, for the pressure to mount. Let this be a warning sign to those who think Nigeria is as old as their ages. We shall always force them to do the right thing.

What's next now?

how could a spineless bar give such an obvious lie as ruling.... Nigeria is a dead country

A win for PDP. Atiku is coming

SpokesManAtiku After so much drama. Kudos PDP

A star in her class. Rare breed in this clime. I dove my cap for you her Lordship

Guys, what do you smell?

Thumbs up to her ! She has really prove herself to be a woman on fairness and unbiased fellow. History will forever be kind to her

Although law has been tested, buh the petition against her membership in the panel ought not to had been brought; as it's baseless, speculative and mendacious

The pressure on her was too much. She made the right choice.

But Mary Odili can sat for the case on Onnoghen where the Cross River State instituted? It's OK!

2 things involve, either money has exchanged hands or money to spend don finish.

Good reasoning.

Victory on the way

OfficialPDPNig has shown that they still remain a party to be reckoned with...APC never see it coming...even when it was obvious that she is not qualified morally, she still hang on until asked to disqualify herself..

By d way they where buying time with her so Buhari can be inargurated 29th May with d hope that no judge would be willing to rule against him in d courts after then. That's d strategy. Nice one APC.

She has integrity

🤣🤣🤣

Was she supposed to be there in the first place?

She should have done that long time ago. For the fact that she hanged on until she was humiliated and disgraced, indicates she had hidden agenda.

Yeah simple. Her integrity and court is intact.

And then hopefully when and if the case gets to Supreme court, PDP affiliates there too will have to withdraw.. hehehe!!

SpokesManAtiku Needless to say that she ought to have done that since the very first time it was raised with much ado. The motions and dates taken for it's hearing ate into the time the panel would have utilitized the substance in d petition

The best way to go!

Most honourable thing to do. Thank you,

bptcrown you called it!

amourab PDP...can't you do something right..ok let's assume Atiku is the real elect...yet it's more like questioning the integrity of our legislative arm of government...but why was she appointed in the first place..APC and PDP should not bring this country to chaos...please

Recusing herself from the panel is global best practice! Good job to the legal team of OfficialPDPNig and the OfficeOfTheCitizen for sustaining the pressure for justice Bulkachuwa to step aside. HURRICANE Atiku has surged to category 5. Indeed AtikuIsComing very strong!!

Correct. I salute her courage

Atiku, what next?

She deserves commendation for taking the right decision in the circumstance.

Very Good. Your Husband is Senator -elect na,, abeg.
