Tension as Zamfara citizens await supreme court verdict Thursday

The supreme court’s verdict slated for tomorrow to determine the credibility of the National Assembly, governorship and the state House of Assembly elections in Zamfara State in order to nullify or uphold the elections has raised tension in the State.

According to a source very close to the seat of power in the state, the Secretary to the State Government , Professor Abdullahi Shinkafi has always been the Acting Governor as the Governor has shifted to Abuja to see to the end of the case. “We are surprised that both of them started the journey together and have been governing the state since 2011 but the governor refused to allow his deputy to take over from him based on the reason best known to the governor,” he lamented.

Intense investigation revealed that those who contested the February and March elections in the state on the platform of the All Progressives Congress were all members of the governor’s camp, hence anybody that is not loyal to the governor has no political hope in the system as far as Governor Abdulaziz Yari is concerned.
