DAILY POST reports that the incumbent governor, Mr Gboyega Oyetola, who was the candidate of All Progressives Congress, APC, in the September 22 governorship poll, had filed an appeal before the court following March 22 judgement of the election petition tribunal, which sacked him from the office.
Meanwhile, the notification for judgement on the appeal was communicated to the parties Wednesday morning by the Senior Registrar of the court, making it a 24-hour notice. “We are not apprehensive of anything, no cause for alarm, we are more than confident that the honourable judges will do justice without fair or favour,” Adesina said.
“We are indeed taken by surprise with the news, many of us were not expecting it so fast, it really unsettled many of our leaders. According to him, Osun State, after the election became “a reference point for electoral fraud ” which in his words brought great odium to the state amongst the federating units.
