EssilorLuxottica and its largest shareholder Delfin, controlled by Italian entrepreneur Leonardo Del Vecchio, have signed a deal to end a governance dispute, the eyewear group said on May 13.
Under the deal Luxottica CEO Francesco Milleri, a protégé of Del Vecchio, and Essilor International CEO Laurent Vacherot will take joint charge of strategy and integration at the $54 billion euro group. However, the board of EssilorLuxottica, which is still on the lookout for a CEO, said neither Milleri nor Vacherot would be candidates for the position.Essilor and Luxottica agreed to merge in January 2017.
