WikiLeaks founder Julian Assange tells a London court that he will not agree to extradition to the United States, where he is accused of conspiring to hack into a Pentagon computer.

Protestors brandish posters depicting Julian Assange as they demonstrate at the entrance of Westminster Magistrates Court in London, Thursday, May 2, 2019, where WikiLeaks founder Assange is expected to appear by video link from prison. Assange is facing a court hearing over a U.S. request to extradite him for alleged computer hacking.

Wearing jeans and a sports jacket, Assange appeared calm during the brief hearing at London’s Westminster Magistrates’ Court. Assange says he sought asylum because he feared being sent to the U.S. to face charges related to WikiLeaks’ publication of classified U.S. military documents. Ben Brandon, a lawyer representing the U.S. government, said in court Thursday that U.S. investigators had obtained details of chatroom communications between Manning and Assange in 2010. Brandon said the pair had “engaged in real time discussions regarding Chelsea Manning’s dissemination of confidential records to Mr. Assange.”

WikiLeaks editor-in-chief Kristinn Hrafnsson said Wednesday that the extradition battle was “a question of life and death” for Assange.

JoaniSparkles We'd rather have him kicking and screaming when he goes on the plane anyway.

They need to put him on the fastest jet to the US

TrueFactsStated Uh, he doesn't understand the legal process.

That’s fast work by the Establishment

Either he hacked into the computer, or he didn't. Seems pretty simple.

If they don't have proof and he doesn't admit to it, they can't extradite. They have until May 30th to find evidence!

“Agree”

TrueFactsStated Ummmm not JA’s call... womp womp

Do you get to say nah no thanks?

TrueFactsStated not sure he has much of a choice...

TrueFactsStated Do they normally ask for your consent to extradite?

Doesn't agree....like he has an f'ing choice.

TrueFactsStated Julian can stomp and spit all he wants. It's not up to him.

TrueFactsStated Does he get to decide?

TrueFactsStated Womp womp. Lock him up.

TrueFactsStated Does he have to agree

Does he have this right? Or can England agree to send him back period?

Everyone is brave behind a computer screen.

Just let him stay in the UK

shrug, guy's a nagging reminder that the US govt is just a mafia of liars, thieves, and mass murderers guilty of numerous atrocities that no one is ever held to account for (aside from those who expose them) rather than the charity most americans willfully pretend it to be.

Too bad. After all his notorious work, he couldn't come up with more of an expose' than he has so far revealed. If the Podesta emails were a sample of his work, it would be a different ballgame today, had he been able to.

If they extradite him it will be a scary day for journalists. And the official end of journalists being able to report the truth about our governments.

Not sure if he has a choice.

Somehow I don’t think that’s your call buddy 😂

Who?

Why WOULD he? He KNOWS that he committed a serious crime against the United States, and doesn't want to face justice.

...he can disagree all he wants on the flight!

Boo Hoo.

I wasn’t aware he had a say

He doesn’t have to agree. It’s not up to him.

Please don’t keep us apart. WelcomeHomeBaby

Agree? Isn’t he in police custody?

This guy shouldn't even be allowed to use a pencil

He really doesn’t have to

Let the court battle continue until Trump is no longer President. Then we get him.

oh. i didn’t realize his wishes meant anything on the matter of extradition

Am I missing something here?

Assangr is NOT a journalist. He’s a danger to society and put many lives at risk.

The US govt even admits not knowing whether the password was ever actually 'hacked'. He helped to uncover the US killing 2 Reuters journalists and the first responders, he only published information that should've been made public anyway.

It’s not his decision

If he’s innocent he has nothing to fear. The American people support Assange and want him to testify in order to clear his name and expose years of Government lies. Follow the plan 🍿

I don't think he gets a choice

Maybe they can offer him an apartment in Trump Tower as an inducement to come over-oh, snap, forgot he already has one

I wasn't aware he had a choice 🙄

Bring him back on US Soil and send him to federal prison for years

Thought Trump loves him...pardon?...or is that so 2016?

Of course not. He is a coward.

He is sending a message to Trump -o. Since Trump- o can just shut down an investigation now if he feels falsely accused ......

Area man murders in cold blood, does not agree to be charged with murder. 😑

What? You thought he was gonna just roll over & willingly hop on a plane to answer to US courts? We’ve got 50 weeks to nail him down.

You’ve got the next 50 weeks to think about your extradition to the U.S haha

Good

He won’t agree lol

day jar view..

Lol. Imagine the entitlement

Um, he doesn't have to?

'not agree' 😂😂😂

Send him to Sweden then. I’m sure they would like a chat with him in cuffs.

Does he have a choice?

Good. Like him or hate him, this is a fake charge to take out someone politicians find problematic.

Funny how fights against actual journalism.

Well that settles it, have to let him go now. Oh wait, we don't need him to agree?

Lol like that ratfucker has a choice

He has to agree?

Ummmm..... does he even have a choice in extradition
