The NRL will block Jack de Belin being named in St George Illawarra's official 21-man squad if there isn't a decision from the Federal Court | SMHsport

The NRL will block Jack de Belin being named in St George Illawarra's official 21-man squad if there isn't a decision from the Federal Court in his case against the governing body before Tuesday's team-list deadline.understands the Dragons could be forced to apply for a special exemption to play de Belin in next Sunday's blockbuster against the Eels should the 28-year-old be successful in his bid to have his standing down under the NRL's new no-fault policy overturned.

But the NRL is set to be unmoved on its policy of players which are stood down being named in official team lists early in the week. De Belin was stood down by the NRL after it introduced the no-fault stand down rule to sideline players accused of serious criminal charges until their matters have been resolved in the courts.

"He's been exceptional at training," de Belin's Dragons teammate Ben Hunt said earlier this month. "I don't know what's going on in his head away from the field, but whenever he walks through those gates at training you wouldn't think there's anything wrong.

NRL has used its brand to sear mark on de Belin before his day in courtThe Dragons’ best player this season wasn’t in the middle of the SCG on ANZAC Day. He wasn’t in the stands. SMHsport Treating men as guilty before a fair hearing in court, the lowest thing I’ve seen the NRL ever be a part of. SMHsport Wow... He is such a great player and ready to 'break someone in half? ...and also left a young woman with horrific injuries to throat-abdomen-shoulder etc. He did this to his name.. not the NRL Buy hey he was the best player of the season. auspol SMHsport If he is found not guilty the NRL will also have their day in court, that I am sure off.
