Family and friends of Geelong woman Natalina Angok, who was found dead in Melbourne's Chinatown, have attended a brief court hearing for her accused murderer.

It comes as Ms Angok's family released a statement released through police requesting privacy while they grieve. Little Bourke Street was blocked off after Natalina Angok's body was found off Chinatown at 6.30am on Wednesday.“We believe that every woman’s life is important, and we refuse to accept that these women’s deaths are inevitable,” she said.
