Three men from Manchester conspired together to break into and blow up cash machines in the North West stealing over £100,000, prosecutors allege.

They also caused significant damage to the machine and the building, costing £90,000.Jurors were told that a fourth man, Craig Jepson, 48, has already pleaded guilty to all of the offences, which shows there was a conspiracy.

There was then a ‘prolonged’ attack upon the machine, with two of the men using an angle grinder, moving the machine out of the wall and continuously trying to break into it for an hour-and-a-half, it was said. “These were the same type of cutting discs Michael Waine bought earlier that day using his bank card. Mr Waine’s DNA was also found on the goggles.”
