The new law requires bars that serve only alcoholic drinks and no food to provide drug testing kits and post signs saying the drink testing kits are available.

The California state legislature unanimously passed Assembly Bill 1013 and Gov. Gavin Newsom signed it into law last year. It requires bars that serve only alcoholic drinks and no food to provide drug testing kits and post signs saying the drink testing kits are available. 'Now we have an official way to check that's just another step to help protect people,' said bartender Christian Shroyer.

'It does give an added level of protection as women are always concerned about things like that,' said Anusha Kaship. 'You just don't know when you will be one of the victims.''We are getting a tool to actually check and gives us the ability to know that has happened and we can look back on our cameras and look around and see the situation and look at your drink specifically,' said Shroyer. He said don't just depend on the drug testing kits.
