A Melbourne court has heard a man charged with murdering a woman who was found dead in Chinatown on Wednesday was a"diagnosed schizophrenic" who had not been taking prescribed medication.The court heard Christopher Allen Bell was released from a mental health facility a week agoMr Bell's lawyer said his client had not been taking prescribed antipsychotic medication for some time
Police said the victim was a 32-year-old woman from the Geelong suburb of Highton. Court documents named her as Natalina Angok. He had been prescribed the antipsychotic medication Seroquel, but his legal representative, Steve Pica, said Mr Bell had not been taking the medication for some time.

Ah the old mental health defence.... It's a Melbourne tradition for violent criminals who want a pathetically short sentence. At least he wasn't given bail.
How long before he's bailed?
Not in any way justifying this heinous crime,its always a sad day when someone's life is cut short,but many psychotics hate taking their medication like olanzapine as it has some horrible side effects like weight gain,headaches,newer antipsychotics need to be found that dont.
