Putrajaya had to back down on court registry relocation, says rep

A Sarawak lawmaker says the federal government had to back down from relocating the High Court Registry of Sarawak and Sabah from Kuching to Kota Kinabalu as it was unconstitutional to begin with. – The Malaysian Insight file pic, April 24, 2019.

A GABUNGAN Parti Sarawak assemblyman has shelved his plan to mount a legal challenge of the relocation of the High Court Registry of Sarawak and Sabah from Kuching to Kota Kinabalu. Sarawak United People’s Party Piasau rep Sebastian Ting said in view of the decision yesterday to reverse the planned relocation, he too would similarly “KIV our intended court action for now”.
