Airline pilot Greg Lynn has been convicted of the murder of Carol Clay but found innocent of killing Russell Hill, after 12 jurors returned to court with a split verdict.
The 57-year-old faced a five-week trial in the Supreme Court accused of the March 2020 murders of Hill and Clay, taking to the witness stand to tell his story in the final weeks.Police probe drug overdose link after four people found dead inside Melbourne homeLynn said during the trial that the two deaths were accidental and admitted to burning the crime scene and destroying their bodies.
But prosecutors said he killed both of the campers intentionally and then tried to cover up his crimes. Twelve jurors began deliberating on their verdict on June 17, returning to the court about seven days later with their decision. Russell Hill and Carol Clay were reported missing after going camping at a remote site in Victoria.
