A note from the jury read in part: 'What happens if we are unable to reach a unanimous decision?'

The jurors in Greg Lynn's double-murder trial have been told to continue deliberating, after they asked the judge what would happen if they failed to reach unanimous verdicts.Mr Lynn has pleaded not guilty to two charges of murder, arguing the deaths of campers Russell Hill and Carol Clay at a remote Victorian campsite in March 2020 were an accident.

"Of course, if you did reach a point where you could not unanimously agree on your verdicts, you could send me a note and I could discuss it with counsel and I'll answer it at that point," he told the jury.In Monday's note, the jury also asked Justice Croucher whether it was required to deliver the same verdict on each of the two murder charges.

The accused told the trial Ms Clay was the first to die after he and Mr Hill struggled over a gun and the weapon discharged, firing a shot into Ms Clay's head. The prosecution theory is that there was a disagreement over the drone, but that the deaths occurred in the opposite order to what Mr Lynn claimed.

Justice Croucher said the prosecution did not have to prove a motive in order for the jury to find Mr Lynn guilty of murder.
