SEREMBAN: A 62-year-old former lawyer has claimed trial at the Sessions Court here to committing criminal breach of trust involving close to RM200,000 belonging to a client almost nine years ago.

The accused had allegedly failed to hand over RM198,592.50 to Maimunah Lanjung, which was a payment from the government for an unrelated case.

Ledchumiah was charged under section 409 of the Penal Code which provides a jail term of up to 20 years, a fine and whipping upon conviction.The accused was represented by N. Maniam while Nor Akmal Mohd Azri prosecuted.
