The former Liberal staffer had sued Network 10 and Ms Wilkinson over a 2021 interview on The Project with Ms Higgins, where she aired allegations she was raped in Parliament House in the early hours of March 23, 2019. “This conclusion was not mandated by but is consistent with my findings that intercourse commenced when Ms Higgins was not fully cognitively aware of what was happening.” He was especially critical of the narrative purported in the show that Liberal Senator Linda Reynolds had engaged in a political cover up - a finding which has spurred the Senator on in her ownWilkinson is now objecting Justice Lee’s findings, reiterating she was not responsible for the final cut of the interview which went to air and she was following directions put to by her seniors at Network Ten.
After Justice Lee's original findings in April, Ms Wilkinson proclaimed the federal court had"found that I published a true story about rape in a federal minister’s office at Parliament House in March of 2019" – adding she hoped the judgement gave strength to women around the country.
