Justice Minister Charlie Flanagan condemns Saoradh's 'disturbing' march through Dublin

The Justice Minister Charlie Flanagan described as “disturbing” the march through the centre of Dublin by Saoradh after the murder of journalist Lyra McKee.

“These demonstrators do not represent the views of the Irish people who have been united for many decades in rejecting paramilitarism and are rightly revulsed at this display. “The Gardai have to continually use their training and judgment to balance the rights of people to demonstrate. They do this well and maintain the public’s trust.

Minister of State for Defence Paul Kehoe described the march as “absurd” and condemned the murder of Ms McKee saying there are groups that want to take the country back to the “bad old days”.

Ministers condemn Saoradh march in DublinA march in Dublin yesterday by a group associated with the so-called New IRA has been condemned by the Minister for Justice and the Minister of State with Responsibility for Defence. proscribe them like any other normal european state There is no place in our democracy for paramilitary displays. The Offences Against the State Act was enacted for good reason. We would be wise not to ignore it. Maybe the minister could get off hid behind and do something instead of 'finding it disturbing' Please let us know why these clowns were not arrested?
