Opposition leader Bill Shorten will resume his election campaign in Melbourne, where he will be reaffirming an old Labor promise to reverse cuts to penalty rates. Mr Shorten will announce plans to reverse the cuts within Labor's first 100 days in office if he's elected in May, as well as legislation to prevent that decision from being overturned.
Penalty rates are scheduled to be cut again in July, and again in 2020 following a decision by the Fair Work Commission. Meanwhile, Mr Shorten is reportedly furious at Facebook for sharing ‘fake news’ in the middle of an election campaign. A Facebook post claimed the opposition is planning to introduce a ‘death tax’ on inheritances. Mr Shorten has demanded the post be removed from the site.
billshortenmp You’re an untrustworthy grub you’ve been screwing over hard working people all your life-explain to the Australian people how you wrangled your way to the top of the ALP (as an AWU dog diminishing employee penalty rates & remuneration-branch stacking-back stabbing)you’re crooked!
billshortenmp The rba and other oversight organizations have been pushing increasing wages for sometime. I the liberal must be right ( wage increases except of politicians is bad) and their selected authorities wrong
billshortenmp Any Labor Politician this side of Gough Whitlam, does not support working Australians. Party machine politicians, the lot off them!!
billshortenmp Bill Shorten, who as a AWU rep, 'supposedly sold out workers ' for $300,000 in disguised payments to the Labor Party based on fraudulent invoices as part of a deal that hugely benefited employers. Can we trust this man? No! No!! No!!!
billshortenmp Again wee billy u dont set pay rates, u cant make pay rates rise, u can only create economic conditions that are conducive to business confidence
billshortenmp Yes and this 'Administration' like the regimes of Gillard and Turnbull has treated their Fellow Citizenship Julian Assange like garbage
billshortenmp I think the impact of technology, digital disruption, and new workforce entrants are the major reasons for wage stagnation.
billshortenmp Just bump the LWJNJ up to the next threshold billshittinmp & they’ll still vote for you!
billshortenmp
billshortenmp Well we’ve seen what Labor’s renewables policy did to power prices in SA. Only made them the most expensive in the world. So it’s a pretty safe guess any of Shorten’s ideological brain farts will make everything cost way more and push up debt massively!
billshortenmp Billy boy, Australian wages have stagnated for over 15 years....... Liberals we expect it, but you are to busy dinning with the same billionaires & cutting deals for yourself & union investments. Importing uneducated people into the country has allowed the wages to remain low.
billshortenmp I must laugh at Shorten claiming the government can increase wages! It is because of government that wages are lower. Get govt. out of the way. The govt. can only create conditions that grow wages, the govt. can’t itself do it. auspol ausvotes
billshortenmp Well we will all need a big pay rise to keep up with the cost of living if BillyBob Shorten gets in “is that your telephone number? no it’s my power bill
billshortenmp How many are affected by decision? By how much? Who made the decision?
billshortenmp Liar

mackaysuzie billshortenmp If the water was flowing across land into waterways, Why did the Govt need to buy it? Isn’t it what water does anyway?

billshortenmp Penalty rates are not a necessity either.
billshortenmp One mans pay rise is the loss of another mans job
billshortenmp Bill & Tanya have the policies and a plan which will ensure many Australians will have unlimited Centrelink paid leave if they are foolish enough to vote for a Union controlled Labor Govt. auspol AusVotes19 LaborTrash Govt
billshortenmp And it will worsen under you. And what about immigration? Will it increase? Carbon tax, more boats, more immigration, low wages, less work, more political correctness. Can you tell us the truth?

billshortenmp Don’t believe shifty billshortenmp lies Auspol PenaltyRates
billshortenmp Back in the day businesses were typically closed on sunday unless they could somehow entice staff to give up their sunday. Penalty rates achieved this and today we live in a world where it's expected that businesses trade 7 days/week. Penalty rates can no longer be justified
billshortenmp So, back to how much your emissions target will cost the economy? Still haven’t answered and hoping that Australians are as dumb as you. We don’t forget, give us your answer.
billshortenmp Ask that dishonest liar why he said this last election ''I do also just caution the Greens, from their side-show position, that they need to be careful ... they're playing with fire by proposing that a government should be able to legislate on specific penalty rate outcomes,''
billshortenmp So who will actually pay for this? For small companies, money doesn’t grow on trees. Why is Sunday more special than any other day in a modern economy? I guess businesses can just shut shop on Sunday. Wonderful.
billshortenmp Labor market flooded with immigrants leads to stagnant wages. BOTH parties need to pull back on immigration
billshortenmp BS Bill - again and again!!

billshortenmp Yes. Now if Billshit Shorten & The Australian Shit Show Communist Labor Party gets into power things are going to head south and get a lot worse. This Party has no idea of how to manage an economy. All they know is bluster that will cost the people dearly with no benefit at all
billshortenmp The tipping system works great in the US. More people have jobs, the service is better and they earn way more from tips than they would via higher hourly wage. Research what happened in DC, a left leaning city protested against increase to min wage, as they would be worse off.
billshortenmp And doesn’t offer any solutions on how he proposes to lift wages. This guy is the biggest con artist we’ve seen in Australian politics.
billshortenmp ‘Umpire got it wrong’ you sound like a delusional footy fan complaining about umpires.
billshortenmp So will Labor be cutting immigration in order to promote wage growth (as the UK has done successfully despite the Brexit crapshoot)? Its basic year 9 business studies billshortenmp, more workers, more competition for jobs, lower wage growth.
billshortenmp If you understood economics and inflation you would then understand why wages cant go up 5 or 10% during a 2% inflation economy. You are an economic illiterate Billy ! .
billshortenmp Took away penalty rates while at the same time LNP gave themselves a pay rise
billshortenmp Any chance of editing in the Watergate questions that were asked and the sensible response to the questions? No, didn’t think so.
