Opposition leader Bill Shorten will resume his election campaign in Melbourne, where he will be reaffirming an old Labor promise to reverse cuts to penalty rates.

Mr Shorten will announce plans to reverse the cuts within Labor's first 100 days in office if he's elected in May, as well as legislation to prevent that decision from being overturned. Penalty rates are scheduled to be cut again in July, and again in 2020 following a decision by the Fair Work Commission. Image: News Corp Australia

billshortenmp Just because Lying Bill says it's so dosnt make it come true

billshortenmp As usual a plan to spend and a plan to tax the people who succeeded through hard work...everyone can succeed in their own way.. always happy to help and assist the unfortunate but not interested in providing for the cheaters and lazy people that live off the system.

billshortenmp Wasn’t this decided by Fairwork inquiry which handed down the reduced penalty rates? Wasn’t fair work set up by Labour? Than why is Shorten attracting votes by reversing this decision....Help to understand....!!!

billshortenmp Let's see if the press have got the balls to keep pressing Shorten on policy costs and economic impact. Or will they simply let him change the agenda because he hasn't got the answers.

billshortenmp Of coarse you would want to talk penalty rates. Because you can't talk about cost of climate change policy. You can't talk about retiree tax. You can't talk about negative gearing changes. Or death taxes. Because you don't know what your talking about. And you want to be PM?

billshortenmp Cutting penalty rates has worked but not for the employee. Niether has it reduced unemployment. Pity that, since that was the reason given. Wasn't it?

billshortenmp But Bill is the REASON for penaltyrates !!!😡 He requested Labor’s FWC inquire into them and said he’d abide by their decision even if they reduced them -now he makes out it was a Coalition decision to reduce them. What lying HYPOCRITES Labor are 👎😡 auspol ausvotes LIAR

billshortenmp Bullshit Bill is lying again

billshortenmp Of course he will. Up will go prices as a direct result, and he’ll then demand even higher wages, all the while taking Australia to $1 Trillion debt! Anyone else seeing the same Labor pattern too?

billshortenmp Just been in a country town and nothing was open, penalty rates are still in play and will continue to stifle businesses that are 7 day trading and also support jobs instead of closing

billshortenmp Apart fr all the porkies that have been told That is THE ONLY 'promise' that I believe he'll keep The rest Well? auspol ausvotes
