Four crimes to be governed by Malaysian laws if Rome Statute ratified, says minister

18 April 2019

Saifuddin said following ratification, the new laws must be included in local legislation either through the amendment of existing Acts or creating new ones, without the need for any amendments to the Federal Constitution. Saifuddin clarified that the ICC was meant to be the last resort in cases where the country involved clearly did not take any action against the offender.

While insisting that the decision was not based on the fact the Statute was deemed dangerous , the Prime Minister said the statute signed by Malaysia on March 4 could be withdrawn before June of this year.

If any of those happened in malaysian soil, regardless of this ridiculous statute, will be under malaysian law and malaysian law will take action against it.

depa sendiri batal, depa sendiri masih dok mengungkit sampai hari ni

Kenapa Malaysia tidak gubal undang2nya sendiri berdasarkan prinsip Statut Rom(kalau bagus sgt) tanpa perlu ratify Statut Rom? saifuddinabd .Bukankah dlm Laporan Hak Asasi Negara yg dibentang dlm UPR kata Undang2 Negara yg sedia ada sudah mencukupi? Contradicting. HRHJohorII

Make it 5 crimes! saifuddinabd The add'l? Edu in BM & no going against one's signatory ratification pledges. 2 avoid creating undue conflicts of confusion & anxieties dat causes the 4 crimes.chedetofficial pakatanharapan_ drwanazizah mariamAdmrlGen lawyers4liberty netraKL

Amendment to the constitution (FC) is necessary! FC specified that Msians are subjected to our federal court & local judiciary system. To impose an external judicial system onto d population is in direct violation of the FC. Ireland held referendums. US sought senate’s sanction.

In both cases, the government seemed to rush into action, only to find itself... It cud b d other way round, too, i.e. it was deliberately rushed 2 rile up d rkyat 2 reject. Now govt can claim they want 2 reform but d rkyat & some other parties r d obstacles. Did EMIRresearch fellow ever concur for all the other universal humanitarian treaties dat Msia is a signatory member, was there a significant impact on the lives of Malaysians or just another formal participating chore 4 show? Was there any rush to observe treaty to begin with? We should move on from this. RS is a history. Never again.

All roads to global justice lead to the Rome StatuteTHE government should have been celebrated for its decision to accede to the Rome Statute which would have made Malaysia a party to the International Criminal Court (ICC). Instead, it was disappointingly pressured to reject an important treaty of international law that would have sent a powerful statement on Malaysia’s foreign policy. What global justice when all the injustice have been going on as we speak Stop pushing the narrative that we need it. Just admit you want war with the monarchy. lawyers4liberty PH are lucky that many many kampung malay, teens did not realize what these lawyers for liberty have been fighting for, what is their agenda.
