Club athletes continued to excel in various disciplines at the event in Kilmarnock

Law and District stars Owen Murphy and Tehillah Ikechukwu-Okonkwo broke club and events records as they cruised to gold medal glory at the West District Championships and National Outdoor Open recently.

Law had two under 15 girls competing with Cara Murphy recording 14.28 and Olivia Davidson recording 14.66. A few middle distance athletes were competing, with U15 Cameron Chambers winning the championship title in the 800m with a time of 2.05mins. Fellow U15 Jamie Mackie recorded a new personal best of 2.31 and U13 Abbie Boyle was 6th with 2.45.

On day two, Kyle Ferguson followed up his success with 3rd place in the U15 Hammer, recording a big personal best of 18.87m. Kyle also managed a personal best in the discus, finishing in 4th place with 22.44m. U13 boy Harrison Hamilton made the final and finished with a time of 29.47. Luke Evans and Stefan Cowan both qualified for the final in the U15 boys’ race with Luke picking up silver in 24.93 and Stefan running well for 26.91.
