Donald Trump is back in court for his hush money trial, the first criminal case against a former US president. It is one of multiple legal issues for Trump, who also found himself at the centre of a Supreme Court hearing last week.

He is accused of falsifying business records, making him the first former US president to face a criminal trial. Trump denies the charges and the alleged affair

We'll hear more evidence today from Gary Farro, who was Michael Cohen's banker and allegedly helped set up the account for the shell company that was used to pay porn star Stormy Daniels. We will be looking for body language between the two of them after an article in the New York Times suggesting there is growing discord between them as Trump feels Mr Blanche is not being aggressive enough and wants more of a"fighter".The Trump hush money trial resumes today for day nine and the beginning of the third week.

This morning, a couple dozen Trump supporters gathered in the park across the street from the courthouse with banners reading"Trump Won" and"New York is Trump Country". On 6 January, 2021, Trump's supporters attacked the Capitol after Trump gave a speech telling them to march there and"fight like hell" to prevent the election from being"stolen."

Trump narrowly lost to Joe Biden in Georgia and his lawyers, including ex-New York mayor Rudy Giuliani, made false claims of election fraud. Trump delivered several statements to cameras throughout the week as he entered and exited the New York courtroom, claiming that"thousands" of his supporters had been turned away from the court building and that the actions of his former fixer Michael Cohen were"nothing to do with" him.As we prepare for the trial to get back under way, here's a reminder of the key events from last week.

But Trump's lawyer Todd Blanche - who vowed to refer to him as President Trump"out of respect" - said the story detailed by the prosecution is"not true" and he had no involvement in the alleged"hush money" payments. Mr Pecker said he offered during a 2015 meeting to publish positive stories about Mr Trump and negative ones about his opponents, telling him:"I will be your eyes and ears."
