Donald Trump faces two separate and highly significant hearings today - as his hush money criminal trial continues and the Supreme Court hears arguments on his bid for immunity on accusations of election interference.

Sky News' US correspondent James Matthew is in Washington DC outside the Supreme Court building where he says there is a 'noisy protest outside, in contrast to the considered calm' inside the building.Laying out what is set to happen today, Matthews said: 'Nine Supreme Court judges are weighing Trump's argument about another criminal trial, the January 6 trial.'He is accused of being involved in election subversion.

'Trump is saying that he cannot be prosecuted because he enjoys immunity as a former president, and if you put the prospect of criminal charges in front of a president, then that president will be restricted and afraid to make the kind of decisions that the leader of the free world needs to make.'The prosecution's argument is he was acting as a private individual when the January 6 stuff went on, as a candidate seeking re-election.
