Donald Trump's lawyer is cross-examining the first witness as the former president's hush money criminal trial continues in New York. Earlier, Trump's immunity case at the Supreme Court drew to a close, with a ruling expected in June.

The hush money trial in New York has ended for today, but David Pecker will have to return to the stand for further cross-examination next time. The defence's Emil Bove revisits the meeting at Trump Tower in August 2015.

Trump's lawyer adds:"It's hard to remember the dates of these things, even when they happen a few months ago, correct?"He is asked when he met separate, federal prosecutors, and Mr Pecker says June, July and August of 2018. The questioning is rapid-fire by Emil Bove. Lots of"Right?" and"correct?" coming from Mr Bove, not allowing Mr Pecker to give more than a"yes" or"no" or"correct" or"right" in response.

He says he purchased the rights to a story about an argument between Mark Wahlberg and his wife, before advising the celebrity's team he would not publish it.Defence lawyer Emil Bove is asking about David Pecker's relationship with Donald Trump. Catch and kill refers to the practice of buying the exclusive rights to stories and never publishing them. The prosecution has concluded their questions for David Pecker, but he's still on the stand - now it's time for the defence's cross-examination.Mr Pecker tells Mr Bove that buying stories was part of AMI's business model and that about half of those stories were published.

The prosecution's Joshua Steinglass asks:"Do you have any bad feelings or ill will toward the defendant?"
