Ontario's top court has thrown out parts of laws requiring lifelong sex-offender registration as unconstitutional.

The ruling applies when a person has been found not criminally responsible because of a mental disorder and given an absolute discharge.

It noted that in those cases, the mentally ill have committed no crime but have no way to get off the registries. However, it also ordered immediate removal from the registries of the man who brought the case.

Mental illness come on stop it so they are just free huh nice but not to me

WTH!!!

Yes of course because even if they were found guilty of a sexual offense & life long impact on their victims, let's give them a way out based on 'mental' health problems Amazing how this country is quick to stand up for the'rights' of OFFENDERS while victims are revictimized.

Tough! Sexual registrar is essential to all sexual predators regardless of their mental state. Victims lives matter

Fire this judge you would think common sense is a requirement of the job.

Lack of sex-Offender registry discriminates against the general public! Protect the Public!
